About the event

We are excited to host a presentation from a member of the Veterans for Peace Climate Crisis & Militarization Project team to inform our members about U.S. military impacts on the environment and climate! This presentation is open to all - please invite your neighbors, family members, and friends to help raise awareness around the various ways our military contributes to the climate crisis.

Guest Speaker: Gary Butterfield was drafted into the US Army during the Vietnam War. He opposed the war while in the military and filed for conscientious objector status. He is resolute in acting on his commitment to Peace. Butterfield is past President of the San Diego Chapter of Veterans For Peace and currently on the Steering Committee of the Climate Crisis & Militarism Project. He is also a member of San Diego 350.org and is keenly interested in the effects of militarism on the climate crisis.
