You’re Invited: Help Protect Olympic National Park from Jet Noise

Join us for a training on how you can speak up for Olympic National Park by getting involved in our ‘Hear Our Olympics‘ campaign with the National Parks Conservation Association. Be a part of making the case to our elected officials that increased jet noise is bad for Olympic National Park, surrounding communities, and natural treasures.

The Hoh Rainforest is one of the quietest places in the Lower 48, serving as essential wildlife habitat and recreational space for visitors alike. But the Navy plans to expand the number of “Growler” fighter jets it flies over and around Olympic National Park by thousands of new flights, threatening the pristine natural soundscape of the Hoh Rainforest and beyond.

Together with our partners for the event, we will teach you about our new smartphone app that you can use to report where and when you hear Growler jets when you visit Olympic National Park. We’ll also offer our best tips and tricks to make sure that elected officials are standing with us and that the Navy hears your voice in their upcoming public comment period on these issues.

Event hosted by National Parks Conservation Association and Sound Defense Alliance and with support from Olympic Forest Coalition, Olympic Park Associates, and Save The Olympic Peninsula.

Direct questions to Julia Tesch at jtesch@npca.org. Light refreshments will be provided.
